Raina Goran is a contemporary mixed media artist, inspired by city and landscapes.

She records the essence of a place by editing and abstracting what she sees into patterns and vibrant coloured shapes, often made from torn sheets of hand painted paper.

Her current series of work is created using Acrylic paint and Collage. She paints her papers and then tears or cuts the shapes that she requires moving them around until she has captured her subject.

Raina is inspired by Artists such as Barbara Rae, David Hockney and Donald Hamilton Fraser. Her training as an Illustrator and career in greeting card design has also influenced the style of her work.

Raina studied Illustration at Wimbledon School of Art before working as a Creative Director for Greeting Cards at Athena International.

She now creates her artwork from her studio in Radlett. Hertfordshire. Visitors welcome by appointment.
